Experience the brilliant sound of a legendary instrument with this 1986 Alexander 103ML F/B♭ Full Double French Horn. The Alexander 103 debuted in 1909 and quickly established itself as the global standard among professional horn players worldwide. Built in yellow brass with a classic one-piece bell, this 1980s model delivers a rich, full-bodied tone with a smooth transition from your initial attack into a powerful sustain.
This horn offers the moderate resistance and robust, focused tone characteristic of 1980s Alexander instruments, responding to your breath with a brilliant, resonant power. Its lacquer finish was applied after manufacture rather than at the factory, and it includes a removable extension plate attached to the fourth rotary lever. A genuine Alexander hard case is included, showing wear on its outer lining.
As a vintage secondhand instrument, it shows honest cosmetic wear. There is lacquer peeling and spotty discoloration across the back of the bell, the second pipe, the slide curves, and the bell body. The bell flare and body show signs of past dent repair, along with scattered, tiny, shallow dents on the flare that are difficult to repair and are sold as is. All pipes have been fully disassembled, cleaned, serviced, and adjusted, making this classic horn ready for its next chapter.
