Cola artisan Cola Kobayashi took the brand's signature secret spice blend and reworked it specifically for cacao, then added cacao husks to the mix. Cacao husks are the thin outer shells of cacao beans; they carry bitterness and off-flavors that make them unsuitable for chocolate, so they're usually discarded during production. This time, Dandelion Chocolate supplied Iyoshi Cola with husks alongside their usual nibs, letting Kobayashi experiment with an ingredient rarely used in any food or drink. The result is a cola with a spicy backbone and a distinct cacao aroma running through it.
