Carving Improvement Deck Pad 2.0 Decal Sticker – Limited to 50 per Design

Order via Japan Rabbit

Take your snowboarding carving skills to the next level with the Carving Improvement Deck Pad 2.0. Developed by Kenichi Takizawa of LATE PROJECT, this specialized gear has already sold over 3,800 units and focuses on one-foot turn practice to help you master proper riding posture.

Riding with both feet locked in place lets you cheat your form without realizing it, so the fundamentals never really sink in. One-foot turns fix that: there's no room to fake it, and you naturally build the balanced stance that makes two-footed carving click. Traditional bumpy deck pads actually get in the way here. Their ridges press into your foot and make it hard to feel exactly where your weight is landing, and they hold your foot so firmly that you end up relying on the pad instead of your own form.

This pad solves that with a flat, waterproof, sandpaper-like surface inspired by longboard skateboard grip tape. Because there are no ridges, you can feel your weight shift across the whole sole of your foot and check whether you're pressing properly through the ball of your foot or your heel.

The 2.0 version adds a paraffin coating that helps cut down on snow and ice buildup, though it can still ice over in very wet, heavy snow. Each pack contains one pad, sized at roughly 14 cm wide by 5 cm high, and every design is limited to just 50 pieces. One pad works fine as a standard, good-looking deck pad, but for real carving practice, stick two under your back foot: one at the ball of the foot, one along the inside of the heel. If you ride duck stance, angling your back foot slightly forward during one-foot practice will help you avoid dragging through turns.

Because the surface is gritty, avoid holding the board directly by the pad, as it can snag and damage snow outerwear. After applying it to your board, let it sit at room temperature for at least 24 hours to fully set. Due to the nature of the product, expect slight size variations of a few millimeters, minor print shifts, small surface cracks, or print wear after use; none of this affects performance.

Carving Improvement Deck Pad 2.0, a one-foot turn training deck pad developed by Kenichi Takizawa of Late Project. Inspired by long skateboard deck tape, its flat, abrasive waterproof surface helps riders feel pressure placement across the sole, including the ball of the foot and heel, without the raised bumps of conventional deck pads.

Features paraffin treatment to reduce snow buildup compared with the original model. One pad is included; using two pads is recommended, positioned under the rear foot’s ball and inner heel. Can also be used as a standard deck pad with one piece.

Size: approximately 14 cm wide × 5 cm high. Material: waterproof, sandpaper-like abrasive material. Limited to 50 pieces per design.

Store at room temperature for at least 24 hours after application to allow the adhesive to set. Do not grip the pad directly, as it may damage clothing. Snow may freeze onto it in wet snow conditions. Minor size variations, slight print misalignment, and cracks may occur. Print may fade or peel with use.
