Charrita Wool Pants Gray

Because the fabric is woven by hand, subtle yarn speckles appear throughout, a natural mark of the process rather than a flaw. The brand lists the color as gray, but in person it reads closer to a soft light beige, almost a greige.

Charrita was founded in Oaxaca, Mexico, in 2008 by Japanese designer Chihiro Yamagishi. The name is meant to evoke something like a beloved cowgirl, and the brand draws on the Indigenous culture found across Mexico and Latin America, reinterpreting everyday clothing and objects from that way of life. Through pieces like this one, Charrita hopes to build a warmer connection between Japan and Mexico.
