Created by the team Magica Quartet (director Akiyuki Shinbo, writer Gen Urobuchi, character designer Ume Aoki, and animation studio Shaft), Puella Magi Madoka Magica premiered in 2011 and became known for its unconventional storytelling and striking aesthetic, later expanding into films, manga, novels, and games.

Samehoshi, born in Kyoto and a graduate of Musashino Art University's oil painting program, is drawn to things that stay beautiful even as they fall apart, like cake dropped on the floor or ice cream melting, and channels that fascination into images of girls rendered in fine, fragile lines. That same delicate emotion carries through in this design.

Made from 100% cotton, the t-shirt has a thin, soft fabric with no stretch, no lining, and no sheen, comfortable for everyday wear.
