Glide your fountain pen across paper designed purely for the love of ink. GRAPHILO takes its name from the Greek words for write and love, a fitting title for paper built by papermakers and fountain pen enthusiasts who tested dozens of formulas until they found the ideal writing surface. The project was originated by Kobeha Plan and designed by Jin Sugahara.
Its specialized coated surface gives an exceptionally smooth glide, letting your pen move without catching or feathering. Lines stay crisp and well defined, so inks show off rich shading and vivid color. Ink absorption is deliberately slow to create that signature feel, yet the paper resists bleed-through and show-through even with broad nibs or layered strokes. The front and back sides also perform almost identically, so you won't notice the usual difference in writing feel between them.
Beyond daily writing and ink swatching, GRAPHILO has become popular for watercolor-style fountain pen art. Its slow ink absorption suits techniques like Hiroshi Sato's fountain pen doodling, where lines are drawn in ink then softened and extended with a water brush.
This pack contains 50 unruled loose sheets measuring 210 by 148 millimeters, with a thickness similar to standard copy paper and grain running parallel to the short side. Made in Japan, these plain sheets can be trimmed down for planner refills or kept as loose leaves for an ink swatch book. Pairing them with A5 size SUITO blotting paper is recommended to help speed up ink drying.

This unruled paper offers rich ink flow with minimal skipping or drag, sharp lines with reduced feathering and spreading, vivid ink color and shading, reduced show-through, and minimal difference between the front and back surfaces. Ink absorption is slightly slow, and performance may vary depending on the pen and ink used.
Suitable for writing and drawing, including watercolor-style blending and layered ink applications. The paper is approximately the thickness of copy paper and is designed to resist wrinkling and bleed-through.
