This ichikiri chisel, crafted specifically for professional shoemaking, is a specialized Japanese hand tool designed for men's footwear work. Every chisel is individually heat treated, meticulously ground, and finished by a skilled blacksmith, bringing authentic Japanese forging traditions directly to your workshop.
This tool is made specifically for skiving and preparing upper materials during the shoemaking process. It comes with a high grade blade paired with a wooden handle; final installation of the blade is left for you to complete. It is crafted by the same experienced blacksmith who makes the Fumazu, Dashi, and Sukui shoemaking needles. For regular maintenance, a triangular whetstone (sold separately) is recommended to keep the edge properly adjusted and sharp.
