The fabric, a heavyweight 19oz "Kiwami" denim, is woven on vintage shuttle looms by pounding slubby #5 warp thread against slubby #4 weft thread. It's the firmest denim in the brand's lineup, built to develop striking high-contrast fades over time. A moderate taper, a rise that's neither too shallow nor too deep, and a generous thigh give these jeans an easy, balanced silhouette that suits almost any build.
Japan's heritage denim craftsmanship is on full display here, where extreme fabric weights and historically inspired details turn everyday workwear into something closer to art. These jeans carry that spirit through a silver "Katana" selvedge line, iron sunrise buttons, and copper coin-shaped rivets. Inside, the pocket bags are lined with an "Impermanence" jacquard slake, woven with the kanji for "sho gyo mu jo," meaning "all things must pass."
