After repeated prototyping, the maker shaped the frame so bumper and fingers meet without any awkwardness, keeping swipes smooth even with frequent use. The front opening is also set wide (67.8mm by 146mm) to fit most off-the-shelf screen protectors.
The enlarged USB-C cutout accommodates a wide range of cables, and the rear opening is cut to work with many third-party MagSafe accessories without interference. Qi wireless charging also works, though the case's thickness sets the phone about 1.5mm further from the charging coil, which may slightly affect charging speed depending on your charger's output.
Practical extras round out the design: rubber O-rings to stop the assembly bolts from loosening over time, and two strap holes (reworked for a stronger, easier fit) that work with official Apple crossbody straps or carabiners up to 3mm thick.
Face ID, Apple Pay, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellular connections all function normally with the case on. As with any aluminum case, radio signal reception may be marginally reduced, though this shouldn't be noticeable under normal signal conditions. This is a new item.

The bumper is shaped for comfortable grip and smooth swipe operation. Its wide screen opening supports many commercially available tempered-glass screen protectors, with an inner installation area of 67.8 mm wide x 146 mm high. The USB-C opening measures 7 mm high with R3.5 corners and 16 mm wide, accommodating a wide range of cables. The rear opening measures 102 mm high x 65.8 mm wide on the flat section excluding the camera bump.
Compatible with many third-party MagSafe accessories, Qi wireless charging, Face ID, Apple Pay, Wi-Fi, 4G, 5G, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC. Qi charging efficiency may be slightly reduced because the bumper adds approximately 1.5 mm of distance from the charger. Aluminum panels included with collaboration products prevent wireless charging. As an aluminum product, the bumper may slightly reduce signal reception in areas with already weak coverage.
Two strap holes support the Apple Crossbody Strap and optional machined duralumin strap-compatible guard bar. Carabiner-style straps with a carabiner thickness of up to 3 mm can also be used. An optional machined duralumin lens guard is available for protection of the camera bump and lenses without obstructing the LiDAR sensor or flash. Lens guard bars made for iPhone 14, 15, and 16 Series can be attached, but do not function as lens guards on iPhone 17 Series due to the higher camera lenses.
Includes rubber O-rings to help prevent bolt loosening. Compatible with separately sold Color Bolt Set GI-305; cannot be used with aluminum shims because the bolts will be too short.
Anodized finish colors may vary between production lots. Two uncolored contact points on the inside of the case are normal characteristics of the anodizing process. This product is not intended to completely prevent impact damage or scratches to the iPhone.
