Step into a unique design fusion with the SP-MX5 driving sneakers in Navy/Blue. Born from a collaboration between automotive maker Mazda and Hiroshima shoe manufacturer Spingle, this pair pays homage to the legendary Mazda Roadster, known internationally as the Mazda MX-5 or MX-5 Miata. Every pair is individually crafted by artisans in Hiroshima using a traditional vulcanization process, giving it a comfortable fit suited for both daily walking and driving.
The styling mirrors the sleek, curved lines of the Roadster from every angle. Built around the car's lightweight philosophy, the upper uses flexible kangaroo leather with cow leather and suede reinforcement accents, finished in a Navy/Blue color scheme developed through Mazda's own color design expertise. To make driving effortless, the natural rubber outsole rolls up high at the heel for smooth transitions between pedals. As a playful detail, the bottom of the sole features a cutout of the Roadster's signature number 5.
Comfort comes from a resilient latex sponge insole and Spingle's tailored fit, which leaves subtle room at the toe while wrapping snugly around the instep and heel. This brand new pair is composed of 80% polyester and 20% rubber alongside its leather upper, and arrives in a custom collectible box decorated with line art of successive Roadster generations.
SP-MX5 NAVY/BLUE is a special Mazda Roadster and SPINGLE collaboration leather sneaker, handmade in Hiroshima. Inspired by the Mazda MX-5, it combines Mazda’s refined design with SPINGLE craftsmanship for town use and driving.
The upper is lightweight, soft kangaroo leather with partial cow leather suede reinforcement for flexibility and side durability. The natural-rubber outsole provides elasticity, durability, grip, and flexibility, with a raised heel design to support smooth transitions between the accelerator and brake pedals. The outsole features a molded “5,” referencing the Mazda MX-5 name used outside Japan.
The insole is made of soft, highly resilient latex sponge. Manufactured using a vulcanization process, each pair develops unique variations, creases, and character with wear. Natural leather may have minor marks or wrinkles, and handmade construction may result in slight individual differences.
The shoes have extra toe-room length, a low instep, and a slightly snug heel for a secure, enveloping fit. Select sizing based on foot circumference rather than foot length.
