The PS5 Special Edition includes the game disc, Special Edition DLC, a reversible cover featuring newly illustrated artwork by abec and A-1 Pictures, and the following downloadable content: Proto Elucidator Series additional weapon set, Expansion DLC (scheduled for later release), early unlock for Death Game Mode, Start Dash Item Set, and Hiyoku no Choui and Hiyoku no Chogutsu additional armor set. Internet access and PlayStation Network access are required to use the content. Bonus codes may be used once and expire July 8, 2027, at 11:59 PM.
The early-purchase bonus is the Proto Elucidator Series additional weapon set, inspired by the prototype of Elucidator, the Black Swordsman’s main weapon. It includes six weapons and a shield, plus six weapon blueprints.
Also included is the Unanswered//butterfly Special Box, containing one Blu-ray Disc with over 110 minutes of the promotional anime, including an uncut version with previously unreleased scenes, plus a special roundtable discussion video. Two soundtrack CDs contain 40 tracks from the anime, composed by Kegani, Pan, and Iruma Rioka of LIVE LAB. The anime is based on the original work by Reki Kawahara, with character concepts by abec, directed by Naohiro “Tady” Yoshihira, written by Keisuke Makino and Naohiro “Tady” Yoshihira, and animated by Polygon Pictures. Cast includes Tomoyo Kurosawa as Emil, Yuki Kaji as Rex, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kirito, and Haruka Tomatsu as Asuna.
The set also includes a 96-page Echoes of Aincrad Visual Book with character setting materials and illustrations, measuring 210 × 256 mm; a three-CD Echoes of Aincrad game soundtrack featuring 90 selected BGM tracks; a B2-size fabric poster illustrated by abec; and four illustrated postcards, approximately 100 × 148 mm each.
Dengeki Special Pack items include an abec-illustrated acrylic panel with a foil-stamped abec signature, measuring 228 × 297 mm; a 450 ml stainless-steel tumbler featuring the game logo and Kirito; and a set of nine approximately 75 mm diameter character pin badges illustrated by abec.
