T.T 25AW DB Silk Cardigan

Order via Japan Rabbit

The T.T 25AW DB Cardigan carries early twentieth century style into the modern wardrobe. The design was inspired by a photograph, presumably taken in the United States in the 1910s, of two men in newsboy caps wearing collarless, double-breasted cardigans with two rows of buttons. While those details are typical of French workwear, the photo itself was American. The brand pulled as much visual detail as possible from the image, then reworked the silhouette and finishing touches into its own interpretation of the garment.

The sweater is made from 100% silk, spun from silk noil: the fiber left over once raw and spun silk have been extracted. This gives the fabric a distinct texture, full of natural irregularities and neps. Its high air content offers excellent insulation, while the fabric still retains silk's natural moisture absorption and desorption qualities.
