The hemp used here, called seima in Japan, carries a long spiritual history: for centuries this refined plant fiber has been used at Shinto shrines for sacred ropes and purification rites. These earrings use the highest grade of Yashu hemp, prized for its smooth texture and gentle luster. Before shipping, every pair is purified with finger cymbals to clear its energy.
