Gold Brocade Origami Crane Figure, Light Green Cherry Blossom and Flowing Water Pattern - 16
Light green and elegant, this handmade kinran brocade origami crane captures the feeling of spring in a single fold. It's crafted from the same thick, luxurious fabric traditionally used for Hinamatsuri doll kimonos, patterned with cherry blossoms drifting over flowing water on a soft green background. In Japanese culture, the crane is a widely recognized symbol of peace and longevity, while flowing water represents purity and the cherry blossoms evoke spring's fleeting beauty. Origami cranes like this one are also folded in the spirit of senbazuru, often given as gifts of well-wishing for recovery from illness or good fortune.
This brand new piece is handmade one at a time by the shop, a bestseller among their overseas customers, and arrives folded flat in simple packaging. Once you carefully shape the wings, the crane measures roughly 20 cm wide, 10 cm deep, and 11 cm high, and it comes with a red felt display mat measuring about 12.5 by 6.5 cm.
Because each crane is shaped by hand from heavy fabric, slight variations are part of its character: a bit of visible glue, a stray thread end, or a few centimeters' difference in the spread of the wings. Handle it gently, and it will bring a graceful touch of Japanese spring to any room or make a thoughtful gift.
