Kimekomi Dolls Small Five Musicians Set of 7 Traditional Japanese Figures Used
Discover a charming set of small Kimekomi musician dolls known as the Gonin Bayashi, a cheerful five-piece court ensemble traditionally displayed during Hinamatsuri, Japan's annual Doll Festival. Arranged left to right, the smiling performers represent a flute player, a small hand drummer, a large hand drummer, a main drummer, and a singer.
Each of the five musicians measures roughly 12.0 to 13.0 cm tall, 10.0 cm wide, and 8.0 to 9.0 cm deep. The set also includes two extra figures representing the ministers, the Udaijin and Sadaijin. Please note that the display stand shown in the photos is not included with this listing.
This is a pre-owned piece with visible scratches and dirt throughout. The two minister figures show noticeable damage, particularly around their noses, bows, and arrows, with wear that looks as though it came from small teeth marks over time.
