MUTECH RM-HAYATE HAYATE MC Cartridge Made in Japan
Experience vinyl playback at its finest with the MUTECH RM-HAYATE MC cartridge, a masterpiece of Japanese analog audio engineering. MUTECH was founded in 2015 by Eiji Kanda with a dedicated focus on building innovative moving coil cartridges using a proprietary yokeless ring magnet design. Following Kanda's passing in 2020, Kajihara Lab took over production to preserve his vision. Each RM-HAYATE cartridge is meticulously hand-assembled by artisan Akiko Ishiyama, built directly from Kanda's original blueprints.
At the core of the RM-HAYATE is a simplified next-generation magnetic circuit that places the generator coil inside a ring-shaped Neodymium Magnet #50 coupled with a proprietary SS-μM core. This structure delivers low impedance alongside high output, while gold plating on the magnetic material controls unwanted vibrations. A rigid solid boron cantilever and a solid semi-line contact stylus tip work together to achieve exceptional groove tracing capability.
Every detail in the signal path is optimized for clarity. The generator coil uses thick single-layer wound OFC wire to reduce inductance, while high-conductivity Proterial Metal OFC terminal pins are finished with thick gold plating using Cross Point's HYAKUSIKI technique. MUTECH even developed a dedicated solder for the lead wires to enhance dynamic range and bass reproduction. MUTECH RM-HAYATE HAYATE MC cartridge, made in Japan. This new-generation moving coil cartridge uses MUTECH’s proprietary yoke-less ring-magnet magnetic circuit, designed for high conversion efficiency and excellent linearity.
Its magnetic circuit incorporates a ring-shaped magnet structure with the generating coil embedded inside. It uses Neodymium Magnet No. 50 and proprietary SS-μM core material for high generation efficiency, low impedance, and high output. The magnetic materials are gold-plated to reduce vibration and stabilize magnetic force.
Features include a solid boron cantilever, a solid semi-line-contact stylus, and a single-layer OFC generating coil with thicker wire to reduce inductance and improve clarity. The output terminal pins are made from high-conductivity OFC metal by Proterial and finished with thick gold plating using CROSS POINT HYAKUSIKI special gold-plating technology. A dedicated solder developed for the terminal and coil lead-wire connections enhances dynamic range and low-frequency reproduction.
Each cartridge is handmade by Akiko Ishiyama under the production of Kajihara Lab, based on designs left by MUTECH founder Eiji Kanda.
