Nippon Kodo Kyarafugaku En Premium Incense Sticks Long Size Bundle in Black Lacquer Box Smoke Type

Order via Japan Rabbit

Discover the pinnacle of Japanese incense with Kyarafugaku En from Nippon Kodo. This exquisite incense centers on rare kyara, the most prized form of agarwood, creating a soft, serene fragrance that spreads like a sea of clouds.

The blend brings together the refined sweetness of Vietnamese agarwood, the bold spice of Borneo agarwood, and the gentle acidity of Indonesian agarwood, all enveloped in supreme kyara for a scent that changes endlessly over time.

Nippon Kodo traces its heritage back to the Tensho era, when the incense specialist Koju served the Imperial Court. The brand still carries on the secret techniques of master craftsman Takai Juuemon today, and Kyarafugaku stands as its highest tier of agarwood incense.

Crafted without dyes or added synthetic perfumes, it relies entirely on carefully selected fragrant woods. The maker uses minimal binder powder and dries the incense slowly without extra heat, protecting the pure aroma of the raw ingredients.

The straight, hand-finished sticks are rolled into a beautiful hexagonal bundle, wrapped in washi paper, and presented inside a luxurious black lacquer box measuring 29.6 x 9.4 x 5.3 cm. Inside, you'll find about 60 long sticks, each 21.5 cm long, with a burn time of roughly 40 minutes per stick and a total incense weight of about 24 grams.

Smoke output is normal. This limited release offers a rare, elegant glimpse into traditional Japanese fragrance culture, one worth savoring slowly.
