Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin High-Quality Hoe SKN-001

Step into the world of Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin with this official recreation of Princess Sakuna's Masterwork Hoe. In the series, the harvest goddess relies on her trusty farming tools to till the soil and take down demonic beasts. To bring this iconic tool into the real world, Kondo Factory, a blacksmith shop in Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture with over 150 years of history, developed a newly designed blade shape that works as well in an actual garden as it does in the game.

The blade is made by joining SK5 steel to an SS400 iron base using a traditional forging technique, creating a sharp, soil-piercing edge suited to digging, soil leveling, mounding, and bed forming. The design closely follows the original artwork, though a small reinforcing dent has been added near the blade's neck (not present in the anime version) to give it the strength needed for real farm work.

The reverse side of the blade carries a laser-engraved illustration of Princess Sakuna holding her hoe. The handle is crafted from walnut by Masako Yamaguchi Woodworking in Sanjo, chosen for its rich color and durability, and it's finished with laser engravings of the series logo and an ear-of-rice motif drawn from the anime's reference art.

The finished hoe measures about 105 cm long and weighs around 1.35 kg, giving it a practical balance for actual garden use. As with any natural wood handle, grain and coloring will vary slightly piece to piece, and small scratches or minor varnish unevenness on the blade may appear as a result of the manufacturing process; neither affects use. Should the edge ever chip with heavy use, paid repairs are available directly through the maker, making this a piece built to last well beyond its role as fan merchandise.
