Sōki Organic Green Tea Loose Leaf No.13

Order via Japan Rabbit

Sōki Organic No.13 brings you a loose leaf premium Gyokuro green tea with a remarkably smooth character. Brewed from dark green, glossy leaves, it pours into a clear pale green liquid with deep sweetness and a fine umami taste. There is no bitterness or astringency to be found, only a rich, unique aroma crafted from the Samidori and Goko cultivars.

Gyokuro is revered in Japan for its labor-intensive shading process, which concentrates the tea leaves with rich flavor before harvest. Organic Gyokuro from Uji is a true rarity. Certified organic by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Japan, this tea is grown without agricultural chemicals, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. Because high-grade shade-grown teas usually demand heavy fertilizing, achieving this level of sweetness naturally takes exceptional time, knowledge, and care.

Gathered during the Spring 2023 Ichibancha harvest, these leaves come from fields covered for more than 20 days and are carefully cut using a hand-held harvester. It is a quiet luxury in a cup, ready to elevate your daily tea ritual.
