Summer Yukata Obi Ornament Design No.1 Mizuhiki Obijime Cord - Black, Navy, White/Navy

Order via Japan Rabbit

Add a breath of traditional Japanese summer style to your outfit with this handmade obi sash ornament. Designed to complement summer yukata and casual kimono, this decorative cord features intricate mizuhiki paper crafting paired with delicate beads and pearls. Mizuhiki is a classic Japanese art of knotting decorative paper cords, long associated with celebration and seasonal fashion across Japan. Available in refined color options like black, navy, and white-navy, it brings an eye-catching touch to traditional festival attire.

The main cord measures approximately 1.5 meters, giving plenty of length to wrap and tie neatly over your obi sash. Please note that this piece is designed for yukata and everyday kimono rather than formal furisode.

The chirimen crepe fabric used in the mizuhiki and tsumami work is sensitive to moisture, so keep the accessory away from water. As a handmade piece, extra adhesive is used to keep the decorative elements secure, which may leave minor glue traces; if any part comes loose in transit, a dab of craft glue will fix it right back in place. Beads and pearls are checked before shipping, though an occasional flaw may be missed, and since each piece is made by hand, slight variations in bead placement, end ornaments, or overall size are normal. Colors may also look a touch different in person than in photos.

If the cord shows small creases from storage, a light pass of steam will smooth it back out.
