Telesco Workshop presents the PCBU-EQ2 mount head base set, a world-first design built specifically to unlock the full tracking potential of Vixen's Polarie U star tracker. Astrophotography rewards precision, and this original Japanese accessory brings smooth, wobble-free rotation and equatorial-style balance handling to your portable tracking setup.

The set includes the main PCBU-EQ2 base, a 1 kg weight, and two 100L weight shafts. The base itself weighs just 400 grams and houses two internal bearings for fluid, play-free movement. With the rotation unlocked, even a shaft weighing only a few dozen grams will swing freely, so you can fine-tune your balance with real precision.

Mounting gear is straightforward thanks to two 1/4-inch camera screws, while a custom stainless steel knurled screw locks ball heads firmly in place without slipping. Dialing in the right balance between camera and weights, much like on a full equatorial mount, eases the strain on the Polarie U's drive, sharpens tracking accuracy, and makes framing your shots far less fiddly.

The set includes the Polarie U head base, one 1 kg counterweight, and two 100L weight shafts. The Polarie U shown in the photos is for installation reference only and is not included.

The 400 g PCBU-EQ2 unit incorporates two internal bearings for smooth rotation and a backlash-free construction. It has two 1/4-inch camera screw mounting points on the camera plate sections, plus a custom stainless-steel knurled screw and side tightening hole for securely mounting a ball head or similar accessory. Balancing camera equipment and counterweights reduces the load on the Polarie U and helps achieve greater tracking accuracy.
