Maison C Coelacanth Monaka – 6 Pieces, Simple Box Package
Maison Coelacanth offers a fresh take on traditional Japanese sweets with the Coelacanth Monaka. This unique confection combines sweet Tokachi red bean paste with rich French Isigny butter. A touch of Guerande sea salt ties the sweet and rich flavors together inside a light, crispy wafer shell.
Traditional monaka is a staple of Japanese wagashi culture, usually filled simply with sweet red bean paste between two crisp wafer shells. Coelacanth Monaka takes that familiar comfort and layers in something new: the deep, buttery richness of Isigny butter and a bold hit of Guerande salt that makes the sweetness pop. The result is a nostalgic yet surprising bite, sweet and salty flavors trading off with every crunch.
For the best experience, try both ways. Warm it in a toaster oven for about 15 seconds so the shell turns crisp while the inside goes soft and melty, or keep it chilled for a firm, crackling bite. Either way, it makes a thoughtful gift for someone special, or a small indulgence to enjoy on your own.
Each box contains 6 pieces in a simple package, along with one kraft paper gift bag (size M); you can opt out of the bag if you don't need it. The monaka ship chilled and are best enjoyed within 20 days of the shipping date. They contain dairy, and are made in a facility that also handles wheat, egg, and peanut products.
Please note that monaka are delicate by nature, and this simple box is thinner than a formal gift box, so occasional cracks or chips may occur during transit despite careful packing. Noshi gift wrapping is not available for this item.
