Windy has been Zippo's pin-up mascot since her debut in the late 1930s, charming collectors worldwide. This regional release gives her a fresh, local twist: she poses against the silhouette of a famous Kyoto landmark, and the background hides a fun secret. Line up this piece with other regional Windy releases in the series, and the silhouettes connect to form one continuous landscape across Japan. The shop hints that more regions may join the series down the road, though nothing beyond Kyoto is confirmed yet.
Sharp-eyed fans will also notice that Windy's right hand is empty this time, no lighter in sight. Don't worry, she hasn't quit smoking; it's simply a cleaner, more modern take on her classic pose.
This silver-colored case uses Zippo's standard #200 base, the model most people picture when they think "Zippo." Starting with this release, the surface finish has switched to nickel-plated satin. It looks nearly identical to the older silver plating but resists tarnish far better over time, so it stays easy to handle and maintain for years. High-definition inkjet printing brings out every fine line and the vivid green of the artwork.
