Puiforcat sits at the very top of French silversmithing. Unlike Christofle and other well known houses that also produce mass market tableware, Puiforcat, now under the Hermès umbrella, keeps its output extremely limited. This particular piece came from a special set arranged through Hermès, purchased more than a decade ago; surviving purchase documents suggest it was worth no less than 100,000 yen even then, making it a rare find for collectors of fine silver.
This secondhand piece is in very good condition with no prominent scratches. A few areas show the slight natural discoloration typical of sterling silver, which only complements the hammered texture; a gentle polish would bring it close to its original shine. The original Puiforcat box is included and structurally sound, though it shows light age and storage marks.
