120ml Teapot by Watanabe Tozo, Akitsu Mumyoi, Paper Box

This 120ml teapot, crafted by artist Watanabe Tozo, brings a refined brewing experience straight to your table. Made as a special collaboration with tea maker HOJO, this brand new piece comes packaged in a paper box.

The teapot is formed from Akitsu Mumyoi, a distinctive red clay sourced from Sado Island. Sado is famous for Mumyoi-yaki pottery, which traditionally uses reddish earth dug from around the Aikawa Gold Mine and the O-Sado and Ko-Sado mountain ranges. Among the many red clays found on the island, Akitsu Mumyoi was chosen for its ability to open up the aroma of tea as it brews.

This quality makes the teapot especially well suited to fermented teas such as black tea and oolong. By fusing the artist's traditional craft techniques with HOJO's deep dedication to tea, this piece offers a brewing experience you won't find anywhere else.
