This particular piece takes its poetic name from a classical waka by Saionji Saneuji, included in the Gyokuyo Wakashu anthology: "Murasaki ni tsuranuru sode ya utsururan kumo no ue made niou shiragiku."

This unused piece is offered in thin strips, cut to approximately 1mm thick, with short edges measuring 3mm to 8mm and varying long edges. The grain runs perpendicular to the long edge, so the wood can be split easily by hand or with a cutter along the grain if you'd like smaller pieces. Please note this item cannot be supplied as a single uncut block; it is provided only in these strip cuttings.
The wood arrives wrapped in traditional tatoshi paper, packaged in a box measuring 192mm x 160mm x 23mm. Paper size and color may vary slightly depending on the type and quantity of wood enclosed. Please note that only one piece may be purchased per customer.
