Brighten up your dining table with the Nameko Round Plate and Soup Cup two-color set. The green piece carries a "Bon appétit!" design, while the light brown one says "Let's dig in!", both featuring exclusive artwork by Nameko designer Shingo Kawai. Nameko, the iconic mascot from the beloved Mushroom Garden series, brings a comforting smile to everyday breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Crafted in Japan by Tatsumiya, a historic Yamanaka lacquerware maker from Ishikawa Prefecture, the set combines traditional coating techniques with modern resin materials. The matte finish and muted earth tones fit seamlessly into any home setup. The 21cm round plate, just the right size for a slice of toast, weighs a mere 167g and is light enough to toss in a bag for camping or a picnic. The 400ml soup cup comes with a fitted lid, a silicone gasket, and a convenient air valve for easy reheating.
Made from PET and ABS resin with a protective urethane coating, these lightweight pieces are break resistant and safe for both the microwave and dishwasher. Just open the soup cup's air valve before heating; keep the cup upright, since the lid isn't fully airtight. Since each item is hand-coated by artisans, subtle variations in finish give every piece its own distinct touch.
Nameko Round Plate and Soup Cup Set, Green and Light Brown
A two-color tableware set featuring a green “Bon appétit!” design and a light brown “Let’s dig in!” design. The matte finish and muted colors are decorated with original artwork by Nameko designer Shingo Kawai: Nameko serving food on the green set and enjoying a meal on the light brown set.
Each set includes a 21 cm round plate and a 400 ml lidded soup cup. Made in Japan by Tatsumiya, a maker of traditional Yamanaka lacquerware from Ishikawa Prefecture.
The round plate measures approximately 210 mm in diameter and 34 mm high, weighs 167 g, and is made of PET/ABS resin with a urethane-coated surface. It is lightweight, shatter-resistant, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe.
The soup cup measures 104 × 66.5 mm, weighs 110 g without the lid or 138 g with the lid, and holds approximately 400 ml. The cup is made of PET/ABS resin, and the lid is polypropylene. It includes an air valve and silicone gasket. It is microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe; open the air valve before microwaving with the lid on. The lid is not fully sealed and may leak if the cup is placed on its side.
As each item is hand-coated, minor unevenness in the finish, faint scratches, or resin molding marks may be present. The print on the bottom of the soup cup may not be centered. Do not use over an open flame or in an oven, and avoid high-temperature locations. Use dishwashers on the standard setting.
