The brand takes its name from a shrine to Yakushi Nyorai on the site where it was founded, and every cat it produces, regardless of which paw is raised, is said to carry that deity's blessing of health and longevity. All designs are supervised by the Manekineko Museum and hand-painted by skilled craftspeople.
