Each one is handcrafted individually by an artisan who draws on bridal dress sewing techniques, giving it the structure needed for steady support during zazen and mindfulness practice. Because every cushion is made by hand from fabric that has some natural stretch, sizes may vary slightly piece to piece.

The cushion is filled with one hundred percent natural kapok, prized for a firm, comfortable feel that polyester cotton simply can't match, despite its higher cost.

The outer cover is made of Kan-hachi velvet, a premium Japanese fabric traditionally used in Kagura stage performances. Its strength and quality are registered with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The fabric feels noticeably smoother than ordinary velvet, resists dust for easy upkeep, and grips well so you won't slip while seated.

Measuring 28 centimeters in diameter and 16 centimeters in height, this nine-sun size is considered an ideal fit for the average woman.

Choose from aqua green, mustard yellow, wisteria purple, pink, or peacock blue, with the option to add a white name tag or leave it off.
