The agarwood is prepared in thin strip shapes measuring about 1mm thick and between 3mm to 8mm along the short side. Each portion is chosen to accurately reflect the overall quality and resin distribution of the original piece, making it easy to split along the grain by hand or with a small blade.

This rare type has extensive resin formation in the original trunk, with a relatively small decayed hollow interior. The outer few millimeters are densely resinified, becoming less dense toward the center. All portions, including decayed areas, offer a balanced Rakoku fragrance profile of bitterness and spiciness.
