In Japanese incense culture, Sasora is recognized as one of the Rokkoku, the six classic categories of fragrant wood. This particular assortment features the exact wood selections used during Kogado's incense-listening event held on September 28, 2022. It includes Sasora varieties drawn from red sandalwood, sandalwood, and agarwood, each bearing a poetic title: Akara Tachibana, Noki no Tachibana, Shunsho, Kasuga, Omokage, and Oshimu Kokoro.
These pieces are meant for pure, contemplative listening rather than the competitive matching games of traditional incense play, so they haven't been cut into uniform four-millimeter squares.
The set comes wrapped in traditional tatamigami folded paper, with packaging measuring 192mm by 160mm by 23mm. The exact size and color of the paper may vary slightly depending on the wood included. Purchases are limited to one set per customer.
