Moritsugu Nakiri Knife Stainless Polished Finish 165mm P-Mouth Burnt Chestnut Handle
Sharpen up your prep work with this Moritsugu nakiri from Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, one of Japan's most celebrated regions for traditional blacksmithing. The 165mm blade uses a blue steel core clad in stainless steel through honsanmai (three-layer) construction, then finished with a clean polished surface. The handle is burnt chestnut wood fitted with a practical plastic bolster for durability.
The Moritsugu mark is a private brand created over thirty years ago by Sanjo distributor Yamada Toyojiro Shoten, named in tribute to a swordsmith once tied to the family's history. Every blade is still hand-forged by the same respected Sanjo blacksmith, who has stuck to traditional hand forging rather than mass production for more than three decades.
This is a brand new, current-production knife, ready to bring the hand-forged heritage of Niigata cutlery straight to your cutting board.
