Experience a subtle touch of springtime warmth with Haru no Yamabe, a 0.4g piece of carefully selected Rakoku agarwood. Warmed at a low temperature around 110°C, it releases a mild, rounded bitterness, gentler and less austere than the drier, more withered bitterness found in its sister wood, Yukima no Kusa.
As you raise the heat to 130°C or 150°C, a quiet sweetness steps forward from the background. It never turns rich or assertive the way it does in woods like Harufukikaze or Furuki Kozue; instead it keeps this piece feeling soft and homely throughout, a gentle warmth that gives the wood its name and its link to a poem from the Kokin Wakashu by Ariwara no Motokata.
This agarwood is cut into thin strips, about 1mm thick and 3mm to 8mm wide, with the length varying piece to piece. The grain runs so that you can easily split each strip by hand or with a utility knife. It arrives neatly tucked inside a traditional folding paper sleeve measuring 192mm by 160mm by 23mm.

This agarwood has a gentle, warming character. At approximately 110 to 120°C, it releases a soft, rounded bitterness. At 130 to 150°C, a subtle sweetness becomes more apparent, creating an overall mild and comforting impression.
