Katsuro Yokota Annam Matto Flower Cloud Goblet Coffee Cup & Saucer Porcelain, Kobo Zen
Transform your quiet tea breaks into a luxurious routine with this ceramic goblet cup and saucer set. Designed with an elegant stemmed foot, it features a soft flower-cloud pattern painted in nostalgic tones of navy and azuki red. A subtle crackle glaze over the surface adds a deep, tactile character that makes every sip feel intentional.
Crafted by artisan Katsuro Yokota at Koubou Zen in Arita, this set blends traditional craftsmanship with everyday functionality. Yokota gathers ash for glazes and crushes his own stones to make clay, bringing true handmade individuality to every piece he creates.
Because each cup and saucer is shaped by hand, slight differences in color, form, and thickness make your set entirely unique. You may notice small pinholes or tiny variations in the glaze; these are simply signs of genuine handwork, not flaws. With use, fine crackling may appear on the surface over time, adding even more character without affecting durability.
The cup holds roughly 130 ml when filled to 80 percent, measuring about 9.0 to 9.5 cm across (11.5 to 12.0 cm including the handle) and 7.0 to 7.5 cm high. The saucer measures around 15.0 to 15.5 cm in diameter. Both pieces are safe for the microwave and dishwasher, though not suitable for open flames or ovens. No initial seasoning is needed; just dry the pieces well after washing and store them somewhere free of moisture.
Use the two together for coffee, tea, or hot milk that instantly feels a little more refined, with a small muffin resting on the saucer for an easy afternoon treat. Or let them shine on their own: pour sangria into the goblet with a cinnamon stick for garnish, or stir a single drop of brandy into a cup of cocoa for a cozy, grown-up twist on break time.
