Maki Nakamura established Maki Glass Studio in Kyoto in 2007 after studying glass art in Japan and the United States. Her hand-blown pieces are shaped by mouth-blowing molten glass melted in a small furnace, a process that leaves soft tool marks and tiny bubbles behind, small traces that give each piece its own handmade character.
This little bowl suits everyday dishes like potato salad, baby greens with tomato and a drizzle of dressing, or simmered vegetables, and it works just as well for dessert, whether that's a scoop of ice cream or a serving of coffee jelly.
Crafted from craft glass, this bowl measures roughly 10.5 cm in diameter, reaching a maximum width of about 13.0 to 13.5 cm across the wings. It stands approximately 7.5 to 8.0 cm tall and weighs around 197 g. As this is not heat-resistant glass, it should not be used in a microwave, dishwasher, oven, over an open flame, or in the freezer.
