Catch the light at your dining table with the Okutai hoop soribachi L, a large glass bowl shaped with a graceful outward curve. Its fluid silhouette creates a subtle play of shadow and transparency, making it a striking centerpiece for fresh salads, fruit, or artistic culinary creations.
This piece comes from the workshop of glass artisan Taiga Oku. Born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1986, Oku graduated from the Faculty of Art at Kurashiki University of Science and the Arts in 2009. The following year, he joined Kurokabe Co., Ltd., where he served as chief of the blow studio, honing his craft for over a decade before establishing his own independent studio in Takamatsu City in 2022.
Handcrafted Japanese studio glassware is celebrated worldwide for combining everyday functionality with the quiet beauty of fine art, and this piece is no exception.
